{"id":1638,"date":"2020-10-26T14:25:49","date_gmt":"2020-10-26T14:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wtibfm.com\/?p=1638"},"modified":"2020-10-26T14:25:54","modified_gmt":"2020-10-26T14:25:54","slug":"us-covid-19-deaths-exceed-225000-global-cases-top-43-million-new-us-case-record-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wtibfm.com\/?p=1638","title":{"rendered":"US COVID-19 deaths exceed 225,000; global cases top 43 million; new US case record set"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than a quarter of a million people in America have now died from COVID-19, according to the latest data compiled by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/abcaudio.us4.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e7c6daf297b0d503640349bcb&amp;id=7e1f4bf2f3&amp;e=e42c4dc170\" target=\"_blank\">Johns Hopkins University<\/a>.\u00a0 As of Monday morning, at least 225,239 people had died of the virus, which is more deaths than any other country and constitutes 19.5% of global deaths.\u00a0 The number of reported COVID-19 infections globally has now topped 43 million, with 43,121,946.\u00a0 Of those, the U.S. again has the most reported cases, with 8,637,100, comprising 20% of the global total.\u00a0 The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/abcaudio.us4.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e7c6daf297b0d503640349bcb&amp;id=9fb7551747&amp;e=e42c4dc170\" target=\"_blank\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a>\u2019s most recent forecast estimates there will be from 235,000 to 247,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. by the week ending November 14.<br><br>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/abcaudio.us4.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e7c6daf297b0d503640349bcb&amp;id=137af94d25&amp;e=e42c4dc170\" target=\"_blank\">COVID Tracking Project<\/a>\u2019s daily update Sunday reported 1.1 million tests, 65,000 cases and 42,000 people currently hospitalized, with a Sunday death toll of 337.\u00a0 The U.S. on Sunday also set a new record for new cases averaged over a seven-day period, with 68,954.
