We’re coming up on the fourth week of June, and there’s still no SOLID indication that most professional sports are on track to resume.
The NBA is the closest . . . with a plan to resume play on July 30th, where players are protected from the outside world inside a “bubble” in Orlando . . . but even that has some hurdles before it’s a sure thing.
And now, the White House’s coronavirus expert DR. ANTHONY FAUCI is saying that the NFL season might not happen . . . UNLESS it does the same thing.
He said, quote, “Unless players are essentially in a bubble . . . insulated from the community and they’re tested nearly every day . . . it would be very hard to see how football is able to be played this fall.
“If there is a second wave, which is certainly a possibility and which would be complicated by the predictable flu season, football may not happen this year.”
The NFL is insisting that it will start its regular season as scheduled on September 10th . . . but the virus isn’t showing any signs of slowing. In fact, Florida, where the NBA is scheduled to play, is quickly becoming the latest COVID-19 epicenter.
